Well after enjoying the summer somewhat I am back at it and I have to say I am disheartened that people are just watching on the sidelines as this election season passes.

This is the time to get your citizen “wish list” in. If you want something done, if you don’t voice it now after the elections they won’t care.

Milwaukee’s unemployment is at an all time high for Black folks and what can be done about that? How about we allocate some of the choo choo train money over 800 million of your dollars will be spent in Madison while Milwaukee’s transportation budget was cut by 20% by Governor Doyle personally.

There was a stir about another fried chicken restaurant place being opened up on North but now the empty building sits and nothing was done at all except to appease the handful of gardeners in the area. This could have been jobs.

We have vacant buildings, buildings that are falling apart and have you noticed the infrastructure of our city streets? Even during this construction season, the streets not under repair should be!

Well that is just my two cents. Call or email your alderman, supervisor, senator or representatives and give them a project or concern so that they know we still care. Enjoy your summer but help make better quality of life a constant theme by remembering they will only care for these few months then come November they go back into hiding.

And what do you think about Supervisor Coggs running for state office? Did she ever pay back the money she took from the county purses? Should we really reward her with a better office and more money? I am not so sure? We all make mistakes but let’s make certain they are corrected before we reward those who have taken so much from us and represent us.

And by the way in this heat, let’s all remember to love each other and get along. Check on your neighbors, clean up trash and watch out for the young ones!
