Wednesday Rants. WW Wednesday All Over The Place!

There are so many fun issues to talk about where to start?

On the Federal Front:

President Barak Obama’s speech to the CBC (Congressional Black Caucus) created quite the stir. I cannot find too many people who liked it or gathered hope and change from it. What we did see was a very desperate man making a feeble attempt to get back his blackness by preaching to us in “our lingo.” He should really stay away from shoe references at this point. From his “lacing up his shoes to join with us on the picket lines” to telling us to “take off our slippers and fight with him,” he just doesn’t see how his policies and lack of leadership has hurt Blacks to the point that even his most avid defenders are sick of hearing him talk. His speech, in my opinion, was a misguided fling to get Blacks back in step. He tried to simmer the boil of the CBC and other Black leaders who are tired of going back to their constituents and explaining why things are only getting worse. He tells us if we love him we will make calls and get his bill passed, but he has yet to submit a bill that is defendable. He has only more stimulus money to hand out and we all know how version 1.0 turned out.

Obama’s attack on Libya and his Palestinian missteps show that even his cabinet may not be helping him out of the hole but putting him further in one.

And if that was not enough, Michelle Obama was caught in a “candid” viral moment at a 9-11 ceremony lipping her distain for the flag folding and utter distain in her eye rolling for the pomp and circumstance that patriots and veterans took notable offense to.

However I must say that I enjoyed how Obama handled the “antichrist” heckler and have to acknowledge his moment of levity which was appreciated by all who tuned in! Good one Mr. President!

State Silliness:

In desperate attempts to remain relevant, Lena Taylor seems to be all over the Wisconsin Eye Channel as of late arguing with anyone who crosses her path. First a little cat fight “meow” with Alberta Darling about ???? It simply made no sense. Then we find her attacking Leah Vukmir in a hearing about Voter ID, specifically online usage and Student ID’s. Her rant was a failed attempt to get some press and face time. If she really cared about ID usage, she would be at Aurora, Columbia, or Wheaton Franciscan fighting the disenfranchisement and racism at hospitals that require ID for treatment or medication. Her argument of disenfranchisement and anyone else’s for that matter, is nonsense to me until I see them at the hospitals, in the welfare lines, or at other poverty/minority resource facilities that require ID for any type of service.

http://www.wiseye.org/videoplayer/vp.html?sid=7006

Lena’s Facebook shenanigans landed her in a bit of trouble when she called for a boycott of Koch Brothers financed products. Not doing her research and not understanding the damage she was doing to local workers here in Wisconsin, she recanted a bit. Her childish boycott controversy, which others gravitated to, was another failed attempt to get back on MSNBC. I gather she misses Ed Schultz and she is doing all she can to find her way back in to the national scene. When she had to quick back pedal her initial boycott statement, she showed us her true intentions were of a self-serving nature and that even she has a line she will not cross. That silent majority is a group you do not want to contend with unless you have your ducks in a row. Smoothing things out and clarifying (separating fact from fiction) only weakened her stance and her movement. The boycott became another money making venture for the listed rivals and an embarrassing moment for her and her blind followers.

Lena’s Facebook postings which look more like teenage diary entries, document her supposed daily routines including Bible study which does not seem to be helping her with her anger management problems. Somehow these postings rally her faithful and they just pour out the love, even though she is nothing more than rhetoric at this point. For such a spiritual person, she sure could use a sermon or two on human compassion and good stewardship.

What I do not see from her are job creation meetings or issues directly impacting her district. I do not see her insisting on face time with Walker on behalf of her district or even her attending Walker’s meetings for job creation in the state. The meetings she should be at so we can have representation there with those bringing jobs or thinking of doing business here in Wisconsin. She does not address the MMSD Sewage overspending and misspending issues recently brought to light. Nor does she discuss why she thinks Milwaukee homeowners should cough up $3000 each to repair the sewers. You really have to search long and hard to find how she is relevant to “us.” If you think Obama has turned a blind eye, you really should question Lena’s actions and wonder where she is headed. Sorry hun, they got a Black guy on MSNBC, they usually don’t take too many more. If your hope is to become relevant past your district, try the old-fashioned route of being a way maker and not a destructive typical angry blowhard. If you are going to go off on state officials, take a page from Rep. Jason Fields. He called out the nonsense and opened up some eyes to the reality of our people and this community. You could say something nice once in a while and remember that Spiderman speech… “with great power comes great responsibility…” If you are trying to lead a movement and truly stand in conviction then be someone approachable and not a leader of the unionistas. Try to give us something we can get behind and fight for. Her need for affection and attention from her new found union friends is still not helping those in HER DISTRCIT!!!! Hello Lena, we are still here!! Time to move on past the infamous “fleeing 14” incident and find a new gig.

Local Lunacy:

M.I.A. Mayor Barrett came out of hiding and released his budget for 2012 this week. While others don’t seem to know it or care to talk about it, he got his political payback against our firefighters by axing some of their jobs. He raised property taxes by 4.4% and scaled back library hours meanwhile saving $8 million to compensate city workers pension plans and benefits “just in case.” Really?

Firstly, our firefighters are the first responders and they are needed. His blatant attack on firefighters is a blatant attack on us. Do remember he closed fire houses in the last budget and left firefighters with few tools to continue to save lives and do so in a timely and well-staffed manner. Shame, shame, shame!! But no outrage, no call for those jobs to be saved. Where are the marches from homeowners already fighting to save their homes in this economy and no protests to save our libraries that are much more than book storage facilities. They are the places we go to create and send resumes, to apply online for jobs, to get online resources. In the inner city where online communication is not prevalent in every home with the capabilities we need to do adequate job searching or learning, the library is our best hope at obtaining any chance of opportunity. We also do not have kindles but we do have lots of Blacks in schools needing to access libraries.

At a time when we need more first responders, Barrett felt revenge against Gov. Walker and some unions (who mind you did not ask to be put out of the Collective Bargaining mess), was even more paramount. This very brazen act will eventually hurt or kill someone. When it comes to saving lives, politics is the one area you do not want to play with. Again no outrage or protests? This lack of outrage leads me to believe that we are a very hypocritical people in Milwaukee. We pay for these services and now they are taken from us. We have over $50 million for streetcars but no money for libraries, a crucial resource in the inner city. We have no money for firefighters our first responders. We have unlimited resources and funding for streetcars that may or may not create a new business district? Despite all the reports that the streetcar will not be successful, despite the reports that the streetcar will cost us more then we can imagine, despite the countless data that these streetcars will become travel hazards and weigh heavily on our County Transit service (another vital service), we cut services to pave the way for mess and political turmoil we cannot afford. We have read many times how other municipalities are saving even more than they first realized using the tools provided in the Budget Repair Bill but we do not question why they are not being used here. Barrett is the reason why and no one calls him on it.

In Conclusion:

So here we have a fine hodgepodge of political problems with no end in sight. I think people are finding it all too sickening and are beginning to enjoy the cool breezes of autumn and are turning off to the hate that has filled our space. This to me is a good sign. A few weeks back Steve Forbes penned that from the ashes of this political fighting we will raise again and politics will take on a new form. This new form will include new parties and new players. I certainly hope he is correct. We need hope and change, but this time real hope and change evidenced by action and not fancy teleprompter talk!

This Week’s Honorable Mentions:

Milele Coggs is once again running to represent the 6th district. Her campaign kick-off is tonight at Coffee Makes You Black, 2803 N. Teutonia Avenue from 5:30 pm to 7:30 p.m.

Penny Skiora is running for the 18th Supervisory District and plans to hold a Kick-Off on October 10th at the MJ Cafe 6901 W. Brown Deer Rd from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Chris Christie is not running. Yes we love his style of leadership. His candor and straight to the point, no nonsense character is refreshing. He would knock Obama off his throne instantly. However I can’t blame the guy for not wanting to get in the pool right now. It’s a bit polluted!

Mayweather sucker punched Ortiz and I am trying to get my $60 back from TWC. That’s some bs. C’mon man!!!!! Boxing is going to be a thing of the past with this type of mess. But yes I will be buying the rematch!!!

Al Sharpton and MSNBC…I guess they too have an Affirmative Action quota to fill.

Local News….what’s with all the new faces on TV? You can tell there is no Affirmative Action quota here in Milwaukee as far as media is concerned! Still few Black faces reciting lines or overseeing the big projects like Contact 6 or Dirty Dining or anything that is ratings worthy. But a shout out to Shelly Walcott because she keeps pressing on and is active as she can be.

James T is gone (is he?) and white Rights are in peril. Hello, he was not a lone cowboy on a dessert! Bob Moore is gone from the airwaves someone as well told me? Well that’s messed up too. We have no one yet to step up and fill DeMarco Morgan’s shoes in this community. Maybe someday. But I will say some of our local media peeps give little to build an audience anyways. They feel they do not want to be linked to “Blacks” and why is that? I see their point (don’t want to be labeled), but then I see a movement that needs a voice. Speaking of which keep supporting WMCS and help it grow. They made changes based on what we said WE wanted and now that they have. Are we supporting by dollars and passing it on? We have this one radio station for news that is important to us and Black conversation designed to inform and engage. Keep supporting and listening and passing it on!!

Peace Family,

Walk the Walk Scotty!

Walk the Walk Scotty!

Time to Beam Us Up!!

What Scott Walker Can Do For Us, What He Is Not Doing, What We Need To Demand!

Okay we all know very well what Walker has or has not done whether we agree or not. None the less this is a watershed moment for us as Black Wisconsinites because we need to understand that for the meantime he is governor and we must form a relationship with him during his tenure. What we need to focus on is how we get this governor and our Black constituency together in a partnership holding each other accountable for a new Wisconsin. Holding up the old tired Hitler sign with Walker’s face inserted is not cutting it anymore and common sense dictates we will not get much if we keep holding those signs up wondering why he won’t respond to us. If Wisconsin is going to be “open for business,” where do we fit in or make ourselves fit in? A new Wisconsin should begin to address publically that we have a race and segregation problem. A new Wisconsin will include some powerful sit downs with Blacks and this administration to work together on devising a plan to uplift our community that goes beyond talk and rhetoric. We need to put together a simple list of demands and hold Walker and our elected accountable to these demands as part of the new landscape of the direction Walker has outlined. We need to be an integral part of that outline and design.

Thus far Walker has been stellar in executing his moves with viper like precision to bring about fiscal change in this state. We are paying bills, we are freezing fees and taxes, and we passed a fiscally sound budget. Great, commendable, but now we need to hold this “ground breaking” governor to even more accomplishments and tasks as never witnessed before. We need new policies and actions that are just as “ground breaking” of reforms and changes for minorities, specifically Blacks.

My Top Demands for Governor Walker

  1. Get over it! Yes Black folks on the whole don’t like you much. However you are still their governor and there are some of us who fell on the sword for you because we believe fundamentally in many of the same ideologies and principals as you do. However we are holding you MORE accountable for your promise that was made to ALL of Wisconsin. Not just the Koch brothers and cronies, but All of us. For our sacrifices you owe us much!!
  2. Don’t be a stranger! Milwaukee’s inner city needs to be “open for business” too so come see about us. Yes I know you got some real stalkers on your tail. Hell my last article seems to have drawn them to me, so I can only imagine what it is like to be Scott Walker for a minute. No thanks!! However you also have a great security detail. You have no excuse to stay closed to the inner city when you promote Wisconsin is “open for business!” This must include Black Milwaukee. Joining in on a Bronzeville committee meeting would be a good start.
  3. One and done! So you hired a real brother, Reggie Newson as New DWD Deputy Secretary. This does not make for a Black Quorum for you to use as counsel. Get some more Black folks on board and make your administration representative of the new Wisconsin you keep telling us about. To me it still looks as stale as the previous administration. A little coffee in your cream never hurt anybody! Start by with meeting with the African American Chamber of Commerce, Reuben Hopkins, or people such as Annette Polly Williams and Howard Fuller for the 4th Grade Reading Initiative Program. Seek and find real leaders who have economic expertise, who have ability in action not rhetoric, those who possess the ability to tell you straight and not be “yes” people neither public blasters, those who know how to make things happen. Reward growing Black businesses such as Growing Power and stay ahead of the curve on Black Economic Development. You should be meeting with these people regularly and making strategy that rivals the Budget Repair Bill.

4. Make Black Media Your Friend! You appeared once on Earl Ingram’s “Evening Rush” on WMCS 1290 AM and your excuse for not getting on his show in a timely fashion or being late for your portion was LAME, inexcusable and insulting of our intelligence. If you believe in something, stand in your convictions and tell us, not WISN or WTMJ how these changes will help us. Do not use the word “tools” use specifics. Use examples and do not fear the wrath of the angry Black Wisconsinite but find some common ground on which to begin this relationship. Yes you will have to be the bigger person and take the heat but that comes with the territory. If you are proven correct, we will appropriately follow suit. However you know all too well that the left will continue to demonize you, deal with it! You are taking away their $$power$$, what did you expect? Not to mention Lena Taylor has never forgiven you for her defeat and she never will. Again back to #1 get over it! This is your opportunity to create a different path by reaching out to us on a consistent basis and being present to us instead of making us a yearly obligation. Your bi-monthly reporting (or whatever time frame) to us and accountability in person will counter any attack levied against you. Hell set up a Twitter account just for Black communications!! Stay with Brother Earl! He will tell you straight and you do need to hear him and you do need to start our relationship via Black media. Mr. Ingram is fair if nothing else (okay way biased but I still respect the man). If he sees you are right or at the very least TRYING, he too will come around and support or assist you and encourage others to do so. If you are not helping the Black community you need to understand how you should. The same effort and planning it took to regain responsibility over the budget will be needed and demanded from us for the purpose of creating a prosperous and growing uprising of the Black middle class which is now truthfully the working poor. If Obama can’t how will you? You took back Wisconsin from Federal reign, now you need to plan and implement a strategy to rescind the segregation of Wisconsin that has been cultivated by Republicans and Democrats alike. The same segregation that keeps our Milwaukee inner city divided and failing, the prevalent constant, is the fact that every single Republican in this state, except Representative Jeff Stone, has not made Black communication an opportunity from which to build new relations, form new strategies, or gather up the masses as a collective think tank. If you can face the unionistas, Obama and Pelosi, Ed and Rachel, you can surely face us and live to tell about it! You need to make this work! The long standing segregation and racism in this state is ample opportunity for the smallest of changes and direction to be met with great praise and respect. Do not go the path frequently traveled by other elected, make Black media a friend not a foe. Report to it like you do Mark and Jay, you will have already set in motion what decades of legislators have refused to do. TALK TO US!!!

5. Get Rid of Your PR Person! Cullen Werwie is no good for you or us. Time and time again he has shown very little ability or pertinent skill sets in his craft. From the prank call, to the appearance on WMCS, to your lack of knowledge on key items, to the hiring of people who are less than qualified or downright cronies of someone in your administration, this person has failed miserably. Werwie should be properly vetting candidates for positions and should be your key front man with creative new approaches and ideas to keep you in touch with us. Instead he has been a dismal failure for us all. I offer my services here! With the Governor’s Website, Twitter and Facebook you have absolutely NO EXCUSE not to reach out to us specifically. Yes we know you have to reach middle Wisconsin and all parts in between. You do a good job of that, now take your brown bag and eat at Lloyd Street School in the faculty lounge, go to Lena’s and get some groceries, have a Kwanzaa celebration. In other words all the things this Black president is not doing in terms of Black events and special occasions, DO THOSE THINGS!! However if you do it for photo ops, prepare to get called out on it. Act like you never left the County Exec position and then take it up ten notches!!!

And so I start there, as you all know I could go on, but that is a lot to digest for one governor and I am sure he is dying to get this in his hands asap, so I got to get it to him right now.

Feel free to add you own ideas and make calling and emailing a part of your regular routine. Someone is listening especially when we reach out in mass numbers!

Yes I know….. WW he isn’t going to listen, he is racist, look what he did to us, the Tea Party is the devil, Scott Walker is Hitler, did I miss any? All those comments are now nagging at this point but I understand the frustration behind those comments and some of those are not unfounded. This governor is also at that pivotal moment where he can use many powerful tools to form an alliance between us or we can keep nagging about what is not getting done.  But I in turn ask what have we demanded – THE Black community? Not as part of the unions, not as part of the teachers, not as part of the Democrat party, but for us solely?

Some have started, others are working on it, but we need action now. As I said before we are at a watershed moment. We are not being led by good leaders and our churches are silent because the faith-based initiatives and School Choice are right wing staple holds that keep needed programs funded and maintained. They will not be the ones to speak for us for they have mouths to feed, kids to educate, and families to support. Our elected are sadly MIA on certain aspects of politics, some have agendas of their own, some are career politicians, and some are inundated with trying to actually help, like Jason Fields.  We need to be the activists. When Mr. Ingram says Walker has not been on his show, how many will demand this with action and not whining? Who will walk the walk and face him and protest for our 40 acres and a mule? Who will stand up with outstretched hand instead of the typical Hitler sign and help this governor move with us and advocate for us? We need to be a people about a movement sans alternative agendas. This governor needs to be a man of action and one unafraid to move out of his Republican, right wing comfort zones.

In the end to sum it all up we can keep whining with zero results or make imperative demands as a collective, specific tasks and accomplishments and see if just maybe they will get us further. Let us just try another route for once. At least we can say we tried. If he fails to respond then he deserves what he gets and I will be the first to lead that charge.

Peace Family,

WW

Recall Recap Part I

Recall Recap Part I

I feel like I should start the blog similar to one of my heroes James Tiberius Kirk. Being that we are now entering into a new phase in Wisconsin government and politics as we know it.

<Do feel free to insert the Star Trek theme here as you read along>

Captain’s log Star date 10 August 2011…dust settled in the wake of a political frenzy known as Wisconsin. The new home and birth place of Battleground USA 2012. The quest for common sense and a return to government for the people, by the people, of the people was waged and fought here. Many brave souls fought a valiant fight against a mindless Borg but ultimately were defeated by the silent majority of Vulcans, the enlightened thinkers, Wisconsin voters….

After all the money poured into our state in the past few months, after all the commercials, infomercials, observations, polls, handouts, Facebook pages, tweets, rib give-away’s and everything else unpatriotic and unholy about politics, we now have some definitive results in response to Wisconsin’s Collective Bargaining Agreement Budget and Repair Bill.

Simply stated: We said let’s give it a try! We see results.

First you have to look at the entire race across six districts. Despite over $50 million dumped into media blitzes, Republicans came through battle tested and ready to move forward. But not so fast! Let us examine the real message sent last night.

The six recalls were fierce. For all that money and ground swell to have only moved two seats from “R” to “D” was a silly waste of time and resources better spent on 2012 elections. If the money and effort from yesterday’s races does not clearly show you how critical state budgets are to souled-out unions nothing else will. Wisconsin’s silent majority needed to be heard and felt. Message delivered! I am certain MSNBC’s Ed and Rachel Maddow along with Democratic pundits alike are scratching their heads today trying to figure out what went wrong. Ed and Maddow even more so since they had to break the news to those in Madison awaiting word of victory only to be let down like a romantic prom dance gone horribly wrong. “Sorry this just isn’t working out…” They dropped mics, exited stage right, and left Lena sitting there (looking marvelously stunning I might add, but a Dem talking head just the same) to comfort her flock.

I did not see too many brothers and sisters in those crowds. Could it be they saw something was not right? Did they too feel cheapened by the whole process, or could we just not catch the sympathetic eye of the camera to focus on us to show our pain too? I wonder how many of us were up there to rep the Black vote? Other than Lena, I saw only a few Hispanics but not any of us. I might have missed something though. Jesse, Al, hello?? Mike Moore, Mat Damon??? Anybody home?

What they did not expect is the massive turnout was not to vote out senators in most part, but rather in retaliation to the outsiders with big time money. Wisconsinites did not take too kindly to the outside interests coming in here and setting up shop. They had some nerve coming into our state with a country on the brink of fiscal destruction and telling us we are messed up. Hell we created jobs and got this state’s fiscal house in order. We paid bills, fueled funds that were raided by Doyle and others, and we created unforeseen savings to local municipalities and school districts with the “tools” Scott Walker and the right talked of. They too were surprised at how much savings we gained. Milwaukee alone is at $25 million in savings to offset budget cuts and now has ownership over runaway costs of employee benefit packages. We were real busy in Wisconsin making change while others made havoc. No one planned on the truth getting out so fast and that tangible evidence would be felt all over the state. Dems thought that they had time to do some damage, but they couldn’t. Even Gwen Moore could not help the cause because she would be lying and she missed a key vote that left her in the hot seat. She was exposed for not taking care of business. She can make excuses all she wants, but she missed the crucial debt ceiling vote and she goes down in history for that and made herself a target for future archers looking for a target.

The outsiders and Dems kept dumbing down the conversation with scary commercials such as “”Evil Republicans will take away your Medicare” rants. Wisconsin also said emphatically we heard enough of that and nothing ever changes. We all know State Senators have no power or control over Medicare so stick to facts. What will you do to change things? Where is your alternate budget? Dems had no answer, just rhetoric. Exactly who did they fool with that mess? The tired old mantra of the left had no golden boy (or girl) to rally the troops with fancy Teleprompters. The poster child for voter compassion who promised to lace up his sneakers had very little to say about the whole thing. Possibly President Obama could not lend a hand because he had pressing issues of his own to contend with. Funny how that always seems to happen when he is needed. So then where was Michelle, Pelosi, or Biden? Obama is busy saving his own hide and cannot afford to take the hit. Neither could sitting US-Wisconsin reps who are as worried about their own political futures and races. They too were sparse in these elections. Even Herb Kohl for the most part sat this one out. He had no reason to take action but then again when has he really done much leading and acting out?

In the end with all that was at stake in the six recall elections, it came down to the one race that was the most heavily emphasized prize fight on the card and with the most questionable place of all deciding the victor-Waukesha. Pasch vs. Darling was reminiscent of Tyson vs. Holyfield, and it was well worth the price of admission. Darling is no stranger to nasty fights. She has survived everything from breast cancer to crazed doctors looking to leak her medical records and she has stood the test of time. Pasch a House Rep had yet to lead but was comfortable all this time being a Doyle “yes” person.

So there it was, the seat most coveted and highly campaigned for. It went the entire 12 rounds with Alberta leading the charge congratulating her fellow victors and taking time to use the media to showcase all the change that Wisconsin has made. Darling did not waste a minute, she came out swinging. Typically the candidate or incumbent waits in back. Alberta was out there with the people, telling her story and greeting her supporters.  Pasch however was absent most of the night. She came out for a hot second and was never seen from again. She took an unexpected one, two from Waukesha (why it was unexpected I will never know. They always vote Right!!) and she was down for the count. MSNBC and Dems quickly tried to get the cut man to tape her up but too late the ref was counting 8, 9, 10!! Ding ding…They tried to muster up that Waukesha had some fraud going on but the county clerk was so heavily guarded Dems knew they could not fly with that. MSNBC even tried but they too took it down a notch. Two Republicans did not fare so well on the right, but not by much. Hopper had to go, even though he had a problematic background he was short just a few votes. This tells me that even with a questionable background, Scott Walker’s agenda was far more important than this lousy excuse of a “man.”

Long and short of it, Wisconsin silent majority is very misunderstood and not as stupid as the left would have one think. The changes we vindicated last night in Wisconsin were not for the love of Scott Walker, the Fitzgerald brothers or Koch Family, THEY WERE FOR US!! Our votes went to saying yes to restoring sanity in government and fiscal accountability. We see what is happening in our country, across the globe and we can contrast that with progress we see here. We voted for the continuation of that experiment. I think for some time until proven undoubtedly wrong, Wisconsin will continue on this journey into a new realm of living within our means, reigning in big government and replacing tired old ways with more logical and simplistic solutions that do not include tax hikes and ridiculous fees and proposals. Wisconsin is open for business!! We intend to keep it open along this path.

As for a governor recall. I would be the first to kiss a donkey’s butt if that ever came to fruition. Dems here do not know it but last night will most likely end it for the Dem/union love being showered here. No more Ed, no more Rachel or Lawrence. They have ratings and numbers to get. For some time our Dems will be feeling a little lost without all the national spotlight and media attention. Show them some compassion as they learn to fly solo!

Signing Out from this star date log to boldly go where no state has gone before…

Ribs, Recalls, and Reality. Milwaukee Blacks Wined & Dined for Votes!

Ribs, Recalls, and Reality

August 2nd the group “Wisconsin Jobs Now” held a barbecue with free prizes and food aimed at potential Black voters in a part of the highly contested district of Alberta Darling who is facing Sandy Pasch. The effort fed people then took them to vote absentee afterwards. This activity is being questioned as to its legality since bribery is forbidden in our voting process. However these tactics have never stopped groups like ACORN or Citizen Action of Wisconsin and others from bribing people, namely Blacks in the past. Remember the “Smokes for Votes” in the Gore/Bush presidential race? In 2000, Connie Milstein of New York, provided homeless Milwaukeeans cigarettes in exchange for their “Democratic” support/vote. She was fined $5000 for her lethal campaign. Subsequently, the Milwaukee Police Department released a damning report about the state of voting and election fraud in Milwaukee city. The report exposed voting fraud in Milwaukee and the lack of action to thwart these attempts from either the Government Accountability Board or Milwaukee’s Election Commission.

But here we are again, Black folk whoring out the tiny bit of Darling’s district that is Black not for cigarettes but ribs. FOR RIBS? Seriously? And you wonder why people want to see ID’s? We didn’t sell out for jobs (because Pasch helped them get away), not for OUR community (because she had to use a GPS tracker to find us), not to say sorry about not honoring those college tuition reimbursements Doyle and her party trotted out last time and NEVER delivered on. I guess she figured the best she could do was offer a healthy “alternative” in ribs and hope to smooth over the whole “jobs /college thing” as if it was no big damn deal. Yes she does have direct ties to these organizations so she might as well have helped Speed Queen glaze the ribs herself!

Darling took the hardline and stood with Walker on the Collective Bargaining agreement. There is no need to rehash the events that followed. There is a need to point out all that has come from the historic votes and events that occurred thereafter.

  • Schools and local municipalities that did not make back door agreements with unions saw unexpected savings in their budgets. Those schools no longer were forced to work with WEA Trust, the union entity that charged extreme premiums for healthcare plans. With this savings they are now able to keep positions that were once on the chopping block, re-fund extinct or soon to be extinct programs.
  • Union members did not voluntarily sign up for memberships like we were told they would which showed that many union members were forced into the unions and when offered the chance to keep their memberships, they opted out. The unions are now going door to door begging and pleading for payments and union dues.
  • Walker also caught a break because Illinois chose to go the route our Democratic leadership wanted us to take, that being the route of tax hikes and increased fees. Businesses from all over Illinois are flocking to Wisconsin for relief and therefore bringing jobs, a healthy tax base, and prosperity to our state.
  • Our new found popularity across the nation also increased tourism and filed the hotels and attractions. Guess folks wanted to see what the hell is wrong with Wisconsin. They came for the fight but stayed for the after party!!
  • Homeowners and tax payers are not seeing increases in services and instead are able to depend on at least a few more years of financial freedom from a ridiculous tax burden.
  • We began to pay our debts to neighboring states and replenish the Dem/Pasch raped Patient Health Care Fund that the Dems had no intention of paying back.
  • For the months of May to June, Wisconsin created over 9000 jobs and voted to extend unemployment. We did good!

However Sandy Pasch and the Dems would have you to believe Wisconsin is a doomed forbidden rotting wasteland! That is simply not the case. We are moving FORWARD!!! If not than why would Lena Taylor and the 14 fleeing Dems support Milwaukee’s new cadillac streetcar if we were so desolate and forsaken? Because we can!! (Although to me that is still debatable.) You don’t see them out there screaming to the world that Wisconsin is closed for business right now. No more “Ed Show” or MSNBC fame and fortune. You want to know why that is? In part because it is tourism season and that is taboo. Secondly, they just do not have  the factual evidence to support such nonsense! They would be telling a lie even they could not get away with.

Pasch is part of the old Doyle regime of tax and spend until it hurts, and then tax some more. Her recall effort was to stick, jab and duck. She never discussed her insane voting record that inferred she never had a thought of her own and was void of any deep leadership qualities. Darling on the other hand takes it on the chin and keeps fighting. She has proposed legislation for our seniors and for our kids. Among her many battles she has proven herself a gladiator in the good old boys Wisconsin boxing ring.

Sandy is in this for Sandy alone. Let’s not get it twisted. She has not shown a care for us and nor will she ever. Darling, she is a politician. I am not a fool, but she has shown support across the aisle and across Lake Drive and her record speaks to that. Pasch went on all the radio shows and line for line recited her script of how Alberta Darling was the “devil incarnate” and how she would be the savior of us all.

Who wants to go back to the past Ms. Pasch? Please answer that question. And Mr. Ingram cannot help you answer; this one is all on you. Depleted funds, owing other states so we become like Obama and crew owing the Asians, taxing businesses to demise, raiding funds, small Black business owners not having any power or finances to fight for what’s left of the inner city, not making good on promises to OUR youth to get them into college. Sure we want to go back to that place. That and a plate of ribs to go please and thank you! NOT!

To the little part of Darling’s district that is Black; did you sell out your vote? Who thought getting a plate of ribs was worth their integrity? Did you bother to ask whitey if he would reimburse those college tuitions like he promised us? Or did you just do a little happy dance and smile for the white cameras, eating your barbeque like good little negro soldiers? Or did you take your plate and get on the bus, no questions asked? If it had been Walker or Darling would you have screamed racism? Since it was the Dems they got the Black access pass? I guess 2012 will bring us malt liquor or Icecube and Coors? What y’all want next time? Fried chicken from JJ’s? They will get it for you as long as you keep delivering your souls/votes and never cash in on the promises they make over and over again.

Black people, I am telling you we are worth more than cigarettes and the ribs we took in exchange for our pride and self-worth. We deserve better from both parties but going back to what was, is not sending a message to anyone other than our pocket books. A vote for Pasch to get back at Scott Walker won’t be felt until many years from now if at all. If you had been waiting to get payback, maybe taking a minute or two to see what was and what is, could benefit you and me. You don’t have to trust me; the facts are issued by the state and the feds. Even Obama is hanging his hat on us to save his own behind. You calling him a liar? Investigate for yourselves and be freed!! The numbers do not lie, the countless businesses moving here do not lie, and the school districts no longer beholden to their beloved unions do not lie. We are mending a broken Wisconsin.

Is there more work that needs to be done, hell yes!! We didn’t defeat Evilina and can now start singing “Can you feel a brand new day…” We are not there yet. We have only just begun, but we have to pledge our allegiance to us and not to the mighty “unions inc!” who poured hundreds of millions of dollars into the state to get their cookies back. If you do not like the Koch brothers, than you should really hate the fact that unions spent all this money to get back their playground at your expense. Think about it…The 2012 elections are right around the corner and if the unions had this much for small potato recalls in one battle ground state, something’s burning and it ain’t the ribs evidently. They had too much damn money, more than any Koch, more than Scott Walker, more than Darling or the others facing recalls, more than the entire state put together! That is a lot of power and money. If we were facing reality we would be honest and say maybe Scott Walker, on this one issue, had a point. Say it in secret and watch how good it feels to actually be stating a truth. Maybe you will join me and start saying it out loud. Watch out now!!

Seems we just do not want to admit our wrongs. What are you afraid of? Lena Taylor won’t like you? We might catch a break? You might not have to pay more for wheel taxes and photo ID fees and whatever else they can think to tax or increase? In this case whether you like the man or not, Walker made the right choice and fought the right enemy, so did Alberta Darling and so did all those who stood their ground in the face of a most nasty political fight. We are still here. Don’t let the ribs take you back to ground zero. Hell Speed Queen ain’t even that good anymore. It certainly is not worth my vote. If you are going to wine me and dine me, it’s got to be steak or lobster and nothing short of that will suffice.

Now let’s continue this movement and walk in reality and leave the ribs and the other white man’s poisons alone and get together on this road to recovery. We can do this but it takes some healthy discourse and not the crap spewed all over the TV, the radio, the billboards, and everywhere else the unions, Pelosi, and the Dems think we be at. We are not owned and the unions have shown beyond a reasonable doubt that they have been sucking us dry for far too long. They are the evil rich!! Now it is time to give them a reality check and give this governor the okay to keep moving in the current direction. And to be perfectly clear (for those of you who seem to want to tie me on the man’s buttock constantly) I am not in agreement with Walker 100%. We got work to do on him, but moving backwards to prove a point is not the answer.

Reality vs. Ribs? Which one will win? I hope at least y’all had the beef ribs or did you partake of the swine?

Peace Family,

WW

PS….A BIG THANK YOU to all those who came out to support the Frederick Alexander Meade event. More to come but I could not rush that piece. It was too significant to be rushed. It was historic, magnificent, sealed and anointed by God and thank you to The Milwaukee Drum and Earl Ingram for giving me the tools to help get the event its proper due. Thank you Milwaukee!! WE did it, YOU did it, Meade indeed did it!!

A Time to Heal: Where is the Memorial for Dahmer’s Surviving Victims Families?

A Time to Heal

Where is the Memorial for Surviving Victims Families of Dahmer?

Twenty years ago our community was torn apart by a monster from within. He tore apart families and no one really understood why. What kind of evil was in the mind of this typical looking guy who seemed to live a typical life? None the less, he was a monster in every way. Even though twenty years have come and gone, many people are grieving as if it happened yesterday. Twenty years and we are still missing these angels taken for a purpose we don’t quite understand, taken and nothing left behind but broken hearts and memories of loved ones who did not deserve to die this way.

Ernest Miller this one is for you. Peace my brother!

A Memorial of Honor

For twenty years we watched the news and saw the local media make these families relive (or recreate in some cases), the pain they have lived with for the sake of ratings. Even though the local media has trivialized this tragic event, there are many in the community who continue to care and pray with these families as they felt the torment the families have been left to deal with. For their part, the local media refuses to acknowledge their lack of involvement when families asked for their help to find missing loved ones, yet they benefit from the aftermath. I hope they can sleep at night!

This year marks the 20th year remembrance of this tragedy. We have been bombarded with ratings driven stories of pain and sorrow of families still in the grieving process. The cameras in their faces, constant images of the dead, even more constant images of the monster, talks with the defense team, the police, and anyone who ever met Dahmer were on display this past week. What was seldom covered by any media outlet and hurtfully glossed over was the fact that we have not yet created a memorial for these victims or for their families. A memorial to help them heal, to help us heal, and to say to them as a community, we are sorry for your lose, our lose and to apologize for the things we could have done to prevent this from happening, namely our ignoring of the reporting of a number disappearing Black men in a brief time span, because it was not important at the time, nor did the MPD deem it worthy to investigate.

Sadly there is already a memorial for Dahmer and please do not go looking for it. They do not need our attention. It is disgusting and sickening that he is more popular in death to some people than these innocent victims. Outside of the families who is championing for them right now?

When a little child is abused or harmed like little Caylee Anthony, instantly a law or memorial is created post haste, but still in segregated Milwaukee, we have to beg for this too. To add insult to injury we even have a memorial for the firefighters of 911 but we can’t we memorialize this, an event that happened right in our own backyard?

Why won’t the city of Milwaukee bring peace to the families? It is very simple. They do not want to conjure up memories of Jeffery Dahmer because it is bad for business. Secondly, Milwaukee refuses to atone for blatantly turning its back on Black families who pleaded with city police, government officials, and local media to help find their loved ones until it was too late. These families were left to search for their missing sons, brothers, uncles, and cousins in vain. If the city, the police department, or the local media would have put in one ounce of effort, the magnitude of this tragedy may have been prevented. If someone would have taken one minute more to investigate to Konerak Sinthasomphone’s situation…well we could speculate for another twenty years but why? He is gone now and the people who had the power to prevent his untimely death are nestled away living normal lives as are their children and families. His family gets to relive his nightmare ending over and over again.

We need to help these families heal and yes they are still hurting. In this case we do have power to knock down this wall of segregation and come together for this one purpose. We can bring peace and be messengers of healing and God’s grace in the time of storm.

Jim Stingl wrote a good article which I share with you because it is powerful testimony from a victim’s family member.

Excerpt taken from

“It’s Hard to Forget Dahmer, but Please Remember His Victims.”

Jim Stingl Journal Sentinel

http://www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/125993113.html

“The discovery of Dahmer’s acts widened racial divisions in the city. He was white and many of his victims were black…” “There was a sense that Dahmer was able to get away with it for so long because of the perception that the missing males were marginalized because of race or sexual orientation.”

“Carolyn Smith reported her brother, Eddie Smith, missing in the summer of 1990, but she doesn’t think the police took her seriously. She tried to get TV news to run his photo, but officials declined. As it turns out, he was Dahmer’s sixth victim.

Smith doesn’t have the luxury of forgetting about Dahmer. Milwaukee has recovered, but the families never will. Every day she thinks about what he did to her brother, which has caused her tremendous stress, depression and fear of leaving her Milwaukee home.

She wants a memorial erected, but not at the 25th and State site where the Oxford Apartments building, … was razed.”

My beloved community there is not much more I can say. I think Ms. Smith said it best. Let us show these families some real love and respect from this community NOW. Let us come together to claim victory over tragedy and support those still grieving the loss of cherished family members. We need to be more vocal on this and insist on the need to have this not waiting for uninterested political officials to take up our cause or to do it only because it is election season. Sadly this memorial seems to be a non-issue; we need to change that asap.

Please take a moment to contact your representative and let your voice be heard.

Contact your state and city officials!!!!!!

Presently this governor has a tentative committee looking into a memorial at the request of concerned community members and families. I have heard nothing back from our mayor about this other than what I heard on TV which was that it was something they could pursue sometime in the future. It’s been 20 years, the future is today!

Peace Family,
