HOODwinked!

Save MPS, Save our Inner City Schools!

Say No to Resolution 1314R This Thursday 6:30 PM @ Central Offices WE NEED YOU!!

I warned people with the last school board election that major changes would produce rotten fruit for MPS and now that sadly is coming true. HOWEVER we have a chance to try and change things THURSDAY NIGHT 6:30 at Central Offices located on 5225 W. Vliet in the Donald J. O’Connell Memorial Auditorium. We need to support our vision, to invest in central city schooling and curriculum rebuilding. Now is the time we need to defend MPS!! It is not Choice nor Governor Walker, or Republicans we must fight.  The enemy is revealing themselves. The enemy comes from within the system itself.

MPS School Board

Firstly Dr. Michael Bonds has been working closely with Dr. Gregory Thornton and the district to reinstill necessary curriculum and programs. Some of these things include Driver’s Ed, Physical Education, Job Training & Placement, and the Fine Arts. They also have been fighting for grants and funding for critical programs that teach our kids to resolve matters using peaceful techniques instead of guns and violence. You know the things they enjoy in the outer regions of the district and out in the suburbs. Things we do not have any more in the central city. These things are critical to help our kids to meet national Core Curriculum expectations and expand essential Multiple Intelligences. These things were ripped out of our inner city schools. If you notice the loss of these programs coincide with the increase in violence and discipline problems in our schools and the decrease in educational achievement. Take away necessary disciplines and you leave a district in peril. Hence current day MPS.

Certain board members with clear agendas that certainly are not children first, want to take your $43 million surplus and keep it out of the classroom. They want to give it to consultant pals, conduct “testing” and do nontransparent/union directed, politically motivated things. The answer is clear. Choice knows it, education reformers know it, teachers and MPS know it. Give it back to the teachers and classrooms where it is desperately needed!

img_4811

Whatever your personal thoughts about Thornton and Bonds we can agree they have done much more for our inner city than any other two Superintendent/Board President combo then I have ever seen. We are hard pressed to find a more committed pair of brothers who know and understand that lives are on the line in Milwaukee. They are not perfect but they are better than what is out there waiting to come in!!

CGEduTestify

To be clear, Board member Larry Miller (District 5) and Board Vice President Meagan Holman want to see the $43 Million surplus given to fund things outside our classrooms. Annie Woodward, who is supposed to be on our side, is in full agreement with the enemy. Today she called into WNOV’s “The Forum.”  Sherwin Hughes took her to task, what did she expect? Why is she on the board? At this point should we question the status of her mental health? She sounded real confused and didn’t seem to have her facts straight. She clearly does not know what is going on in Milwaukee Public Schools. $43 million is not a “small item” or a “distraction” Ms. Woodward. Unless you know something we don’t. Maybe she has friends in the IRS. That is a big ticket item to me and I think most teachers and administrators would happily accept the gift!

Here you will find a link provided courtesy of Sherwin Hughes 860 AM WNOV’s “The Forum.” It is from the School Board Meeting May 30, 2013. Here Bonds clearly fights the battle to keep his presidency his alone. He was elected by a clear majority. Now he is left to fight lies, deceit, and hidden agendas exposed by certain members of the board. Why must everything, including our precious children be politics as usual in Milwaukee?

Roll to mark 32:00 (The battle is towards the end of the meeting)

If you fight against Choice, and Governor Walker, than I expect to see you tomorrow night just as loud and angry.

This is more Milwaukee BAMBOOZLING that goes to show if you can’t win change the game. Can I count on you to help our kids?  Let’s help Dr. Thornton and Dr. Bonds save our babies. Save MPS, SAY NO TO RESOLUTION 1314R-001. We need the $43 million back in the schools not back in the hands of the “have’s!”

As you can see each member’s area tells you how “vested” they are in the district, specifically the inner city.

BAMBOOZELD Part 2 BREAKING NEWS!!

BAMBOOZELD Part 2                BREAKING NEWS!!

RMarcoux200

“Department of City Development Commissioner Rocky Marcoux told Bronzeville residents Tuesday night that he “dropped the ball” and should have known sooner that Dollar Tree, and not a full service grocery store, was going to open at the corner of W. North Ave. and N. King Drive. “

Rewind….. Although he made that statement last night, wait a minute before you forgive him. Mr. Marcoux has been down this road before and this time you need to know about it and make some decisions Black Milwaukee. Somebody really bamboozling us and this time the fix is in.

City of Milwaukee and current aldermen knew all along Commissioner Marcoux might possibly be a pay to play, bait and switch operative for Anup “Andy” Khullar, and Dollar Tree.

YOU DECIDE!

In last night’s meeting with 6th district residents, Rocky Marcoux, Commissioner of the Department of City Development admitted to dropping the ball on the Bronzeville/Dollar Tree fiasco. However thanks to Sister Shakara, the Milwaukee Drum has learned that Marcoux has dropped the ball quite a few times, his department had some criminal investigations and he personally called for removal from office. YET here he was entrusted to be a key player on a most important project to revive Bronzeville. What were you thinking Bronzeville project managers and Mayor Barrett?

I ask does it ever end in Milwaukee? The mess we put up with in trusting some of our elected and what they sign off on is just impressive. Bravo because you all had me fooled for a minute. Why did you agree to re-nominate this man to his position and then turn around and work with him on this most important project? BUT I will lay out the facts and stories and let you be the judge so you cannot say you did not know or I influenced your due process. Maybe it is not big deal as the city tells me. HOWEVER we must press on with the fact that there cannot be a Dollar Tree on that corner. The pay to play ends now and we must stop the foolishness that has been going on. Mr. Marcoux must be handed his marching orders despite the mayor’s full support of his work. Why should we allow him his $$$ under the table at our expense? This should be the last time “drop the ball” and “bait and switch” are used in this city. The end to the Department of City Development and its Tony Soprano-like days need to end. By the way If y’all don’t see me tomorrow you know what happened to me!!Check the Milwaukee River family, check it!! Come for me.

Since 2012 at least two aldermen complained to the city about Marcoux’s antics and bullying of companies and if that was not enough the county also shared in the frustration of working with him specifically. All told the mayor and other alderman about this commissioner’s inability to play nice and move the city forward and my favorite, GET THIS and see if it sounds familiar, “BAIT AND SWITCH” moves.

Yeah sounds jacked up doesn’t it!!

READ THIS AND BE INFORMED:

Accusations and more about Marcoux and DCD from other sources:

From Bruce Murphy of Urban Milwaukee:

“…But the Abele administration soon ran into a roadblock: Department of City Development Commissioner Rocky Marcoux.”

“Marcoux has generally made it more difficult for the county and city to join forces…”

“He (Kovac) accused DCD of spending money on new applications, developed by Precision Consulting Inc., despite the funds not being authorized by the council for this purpose.  The funding was only stopped when the city comptroller issued a cease and desist order.”

“But Kovac added that he’s heard complaints from private developers who say they are afraid to publicly speak out against Marcoux for fear of retaliation: “privately we’ve all heard it…everybody knows it,” Kovac contended.”

Bohl said he, too, had heard from a number of developers, and some staff members who have voiced concerns about the leadership of DCD.

The net effect is to delay the reappointment by Mayor Barrett and send notice that there are problems with Marcoux’s leadership….

From Don Walker of The Journal/Sentinel:

Kovac and Bauman had led opposition to Marcoux, saying that, under his tenure, his agency had been too secretive and lacked a vision for the city.

Marcoux had been under a cloud for weeks since Barrett renominated him. At a previous council meeting, Kovac said that a decision by a city development staff member to move money from one city account to another without council approval constituted an illegal act.

That statement prompted Ald. Bob Donovan to ask the Milwaukee County district attorney’s office to review the allegation. Assistant District Attorney David A. Feiss ultimately found no evidence to suggest any wrongdoing.

Marcoux has acknowledged that mistakes were made with the fund transfers and said steps had been taken to prevent it from happening again. Sound familiar…

On Tuesday, Kovac called the fund transfers a “slush fund,” adding that it may have not been a criminal act but was a violation of municipal law.

Morbid Tours To Revisit Black Milwaukee’s Horrific Past

Morbid Tours To Revisit Black Milwaukee’s Horrific Past

Jeffery Dahmer was a very sick person who did a lot of damage to Milwaukee, especially black Milwaukee. The families of the victims went through hell and still live with the pain of his horrific acts to this day.  On this Saturday, March 3rd, Bam Marketing and Media will begin giving tours of Dahmer’s hangouts and pick up spots to a sold out group of equally sick people who want to see his old stomping grounds.

The mayor, city officials and anyone involved have been silent on the issue. Meanwhile the group giving the $30 tour is claiming it is an informational venture. We all know that is not the case. When asked if they would give any part of the revenue to victim families, they said they would but did not know how to do this. BS!! However victim families have reported no one has reached out to them about anything regarding this.

Groupon was selling tickets but sold out quickly.

The only elected official on the case fighting to stop this has been Milwaukee County Supervisor Jim Witkowiak. He has been vocal about the tours and the need for the community to stand up against this re-victimizing of the families and the city.

It would be good of our Mayor, NAACP, and others get vocal as well. They can help the families either get some peace or some of the earnings from this sick display of human greed. We need to reach out to them and make it happen for these families.

Family, let’s not let these people come in and revisit more hurt on these families without paying the price. We cannot stop them legally, but we can make them miserable and sorry for even attempting this.

Fatherhood, personal responsibility vs Government entitlements!

While self-serving local, state and national politicians and activists run around rallying people of color to claim anything they can get from the government they distract us from the heart of the problem in our communities and that is the effect that these programs have had on the collective psyche of our communities. These politicians and activists have advocated for a more prominent position at the government trough which has replaced fatherhood and personal responsibility with dependence on the government. Here is a great segment that focuses on the real antidote to the fragmentation of our communities:
