Omega Psi Phi 2012 Talent Hunt @ The Dr. King Center March 31st

Greetings Community Partners,

I would like to start by saying that I hope each and every one of you has been basking in the glory and favor of our Heavenly Father. I also hope that each of your organizations are experiencing a healthy and Happy New Year as we all continue to move our perspective agendas forward to provide mentoring, service and upliftment to our community within the focus area of our organizations.

As you know Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated is a service oriented organization that is dedicated and committed to uplifting its local communities. Our constitution and by-laws have outlined a series of MANDATES that we must perform annually to help our community through a series of specific service projects.

One of these specific projects is the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Annual Talent Hunt. The Talent Hunt is a competition that offers our youth a venue to display their GOD given talents through various musical expressions. The Talent Hunt specifically outlines that any high school student can perform musically through dance, vocal or instrumental expression with the hopes of winning a cash prize. This year Talent Hunt will take place on March 31st at 5pm, the location will be the M. L. King Recreation Center. Cash prizes will be awarded to the following winners respectfully 1st place $500, 2nd place $300, 3rd place $200 with all other contestant receiving $50 for participating. The local winner goes on to compete at the District level for more cash prizes and then on to our International competition with the hopes of winning even more cash prizes and recognition. Feel free to view a snippet of last year’s Talent Hunt by clicking on the YouTube URL listed, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4U-9J5UFJo.

The purpose of this letter is to humbly ask for your support in this worthy cause in two ways. First and foremost we are asking you to help us identify within the scope of your organization any youth that you feel meet the aforementioned musical criteria. It is our hope that we can reach as many qualified youth as possible so that we can show them that it is a viable opportunity for them to show the world that they have a unique musically inclined gift that will bring them before great people. Secondly, in order for an endeavor of this magnitude to be successful we will need a modest monetary donation. Our young people deserve a program that they can feel proud that they were a part of and one that they can cherish and reflect back on throughout their lifetime as a quality and fulfilling experience. In the past the Talent Hunt has been financed through the efforts of a Souvenir Booklet, we would like to continue with this tradition and more information will follow on how you can make a contribution to this booklet.

Lastly, I would like to invite you all to an orientation to provide as much information about the Talent Hunt and allow an opportunity to have all questions and concerns addressed. Also, this orientation will give us the chance to listen to your input as we all are experienced in the area of how to best service our youth. Please join us at the M.L. King Jr. Recreation Center 1531 W. Vliet Street 53205 on February 11, 2012 at 2pm as we serve light refreshments and offer a brief overview of our Annual Talent Hunt. If you are able to attend this orientation please RSVP at your earliest convenience at reliousiii@hotmail.com or call and leave a message at 414-405-7106.

In closing, thank you sincerely for given us your time and attention in this worthy cause. I hope to hear from each of you as all of you have valued interest and experience with our youth and have resources to help us make this a memorable and successful event for our young people. GOD bless you all in your continued efforts to help our community and I look forward to strengthen our bond as we continually work collectively to uplift our community.
