Morbid Tours To Revisit Black Milwaukee’s Horrific Past

Morbid Tours To Revisit Black Milwaukee’s Horrific Past

Jeffery Dahmer was a very sick person who did a lot of damage to Milwaukee, especially black Milwaukee. The families of the victims went through hell and still live with the pain of his horrific acts to this day.  On this Saturday, March 3rd, Bam Marketing and Media will begin giving tours of Dahmer’s hangouts and pick up spots to a sold out group of equally sick people who want to see his old stomping grounds.

The mayor, city officials and anyone involved have been silent on the issue. Meanwhile the group giving the $30 tour is claiming it is an informational venture. We all know that is not the case. When asked if they would give any part of the revenue to victim families, they said they would but did not know how to do this. BS!! However victim families have reported no one has reached out to them about anything regarding this.

Groupon was selling tickets but sold out quickly.

The only elected official on the case fighting to stop this has been Milwaukee County Supervisor Jim Witkowiak. He has been vocal about the tours and the need for the community to stand up against this re-victimizing of the families and the city.

It would be good of our Mayor, NAACP, and others get vocal as well. They can help the families either get some peace or some of the earnings from this sick display of human greed. We need to reach out to them and make it happen for these families.

Family, let’s not let these people come in and revisit more hurt on these families without paying the price. We cannot stop them legally, but we can make them miserable and sorry for even attempting this.

SOTU 2012…Disney Meets Washington

Disney Meets Washington

SOTU 2012 WW Style!

As I tucked my kids in for bed last night I was not the only one telling fairytales and painting dreams of a most vivid and vibrant future and a “happily ever after.” I was joined by President Obama in fantasy and fiction telling. As we lay our “kids” to bed in the hopes they are nourished in the dreams and alternate realities we lay out for them, what did we really say? NOT MUCH!! Although I was preaching from the gospel of Disney. Mr. Obama’s  fairytale should have come from the Brothers Grimm!

We all knew what he would say; we just wanted to see the delivery. Something akin to watching the Olympics. We knew the routine but will it be presented in the manner in which it had been so well scripted and crafted? Yes he stuck his landing pretty good last night. He got 9’s and 10’s from the masses of those holding out for hope and change 3 years in, but for those of us living in reality we walked away questioning “where IS the beef?”

For those of us in Wisconsin who seem to have short term memory loss regarding this president, I was baffled that his message was not met with a little more pessimism. He had promised so much yet delivered nothing to those who waited in vain for the man who would supposedly lace up his sneakers and join the picket line. I watched as these same people who are so disgusted with the progress in Wisconsin and Milwaukee, give a clear pass to this man simply based on his vocal stylings. What else could it be? He has created no substantial hope or change, just more of the same. He is an average politician with above average rhetoric but we dare not call him out or lest we be cast out of this sheep society for free thought.

If you had put his record out there of job loss, dismal education progress, and his relationship with Wall Street/rich cronies, just to name a few, you could easily compare him to Scott Walker, but you would love him instead of hate him. And I make this comparison using the left’s logic. If I took left pundit talking points and used their definition (or rhetoric) of failed leadership, I could easily insert and invoke the name of Obama and be meaning Scott Walker (or vice versa). “Doesn’t care about blacks, loss of economic empowerment for blacks, hanging with the rich instead of the poor, doesn’t give his millions to charity,” etc. al.

The man who met with Hispanics and the LBGT communities but told us to stop our whining, this is your hero? The same man who left you at the altar in Wisconsin and never backed you up when you absolutely needed him, you want to give him another 4 years to do the same ignoring of you? I just do not get it. I really don’t.

He spoke about teachers and supporting good ones, while letting bad ones go. That is just what we did here in Wisconsin! You are welcome Mr. President courtesy of Governor Walker and the Republican Party. We gave back to the school districts and tax payers what the union fat cats took away. We gave communities tools like Act 10 and the right to not have to enter into affluent contracts with the likes of WEA Trust who were really only union tax stealing money pits. Instead we put in accountability and mandates to teach our 4 year olds how to read or answer to” we the people.” We chose CHOICE over forced; we opted out of unhealthy relationships and into thriving partnerships of true transparency and government of the people, by the people. We created a manageable budget and began to pay back those we owed.

The President thrust out General Motors as if it is the company we once knew it to be. It is not! The jobs are mostly gone. The company is pretty much fluent in Spanish or Asian. Sure on the books some of it is here but it is not the General Motors your parents once owned or worked for! Those jobs are gone and only administration and lobbying positions remain. We as a country do not own much at all as most of our jobs are all overseas and creation has been in stagnation. We are owned by China and have a downgraded credit rating. Mr. President close the tax loop holes already. You keep saying it but you never do it. Stand for something before you use Martin’s name. We bailed out everyone but the middle class yet you stood their last night and spun yarns of the brightest of prosperities which is neither our reality nor will it be anytime soon.

He said the unemployment cycle was “a maze.” You betcha it’s a maze and under whose watch did it become this ongoing forest of trees for which we cannot see the sun anymore?

He talked about the American Dream, the precious American Dream as if it was the governments to give and take away. What happened to capitalism and free enterprise? What’s mine is mine dammit! It is not the government’s to do with as it sees fit. You can have your taxed share, but you are not entitled to sustain life on the backs of the middle class and do away with the things that make people self-sufficient. Government is not supposed to be growing and all powerful. Its job is to monitor and assist, not become the provider and head of household. It is already enough that welfare, the great failed social experiment, has grown and continues to fester yet we wonder why jobs are going away, education sucks, and the onus of personal responsibility has been replaced with apathetic sheep who know nothing of economic empowerment and SAVING!!!

Mr. President you warned about shady dealings in the Congress but yet you have no answer for Solyndra or the “Fast and Furious “ programs. Did you think we would forget? How about the fact that the CBC Head, Emanuel Clever said if it where Clinton and he had done what you have done to your own, he would have been marched upon. Africa is seeing the worst of times yet you do far less than the last president.  Not to mention you an African killed leader we had no impending threat from. You are one of their own sons, their own. If you could do this to them why should we African Americans expect more?

However we extended our card and gave this “brother” a great big pass and turned a sorry blind eye to our treatment. We keep worrying about the known racists yet we refuse to call out the ones WE OURSELVES keep in the dark. And if we don’t bring him and those like him to light, who are we to demand anything more from anyone else when the most powerful person on the planet is given a pass to ignore and destroy us? Sheep! Stand and defend yourselves.

We in Wisconsin have our own flock of sheep and we sheep follow loyally those with family name and privilege to the grave in hopes they may rise to the standards of their ancestors. Most of them have not and yet we say nothing or elect more of them or give them new titles and benefits without questioning one word about their lack of assistance and support to this community. We also follow those who have been our “brother” or “sister” because we are too wimpy to ask them what they have done for us, US!!!! So it is no surprise to me that the Wisconsin black will not stand now.

As an aside the potential candidates for many of our races here back home in “Wisconsinland” (which seems to be the last bastion for real hope and change) have criminal backgrounds or of misappropriation of funds that should send us screaming away if we really wanted to make a difference. Instead we line up and get their white “masas” to line up for us too! Sandy Paasch has no business in county politics! Barrett has no business in state politics! They are not our allies. Barrett has reigned over a Milwaukee that had gone from #3 in segregation to #1, staying strong in first place, and yet we clap and cheer him on. No one vets these new black potential candidates anymore in the community. We depend on Bice, Ingram, or Kane to possibly do that. One little visit to CCAP should put the fear of God into your hearts and wallets, but we only use that on potential soul mates.

Sorry went off on a little tangent, but it needed to be pointed out…

MILWAUKEE CITY AND COUNTY RESIDENTS USE CCAP and/or GOOGLE AND VOTE ACCORDINGLY!!!

Just a little friendly warning before you regret giving even more pathetic, benefit seeking, lying, cheating, living off us, smile in your face, dagger behind the back, desperate for incomes, lacking leadership, low life scum, these new jobs and then wonder why we cannot get rid of them and why our communities look tore up!!! HALLEJUAH AMEN! I hope I emphasized enough that there are some real threats to our own community from within trying to take advantage while we are putting all our resources and attention into getting rid of Scott Walker. WATCH OUT LITTLE SHEEP! Danger, danger!!!! Scott Walker is NOT our biggest threat.

As with any relationship do a little searching and ask them the questions. CCAP and Google are our best tools in deciding local elections.

I will elaborate more on this as we get closer to these elections.

Anway back to POTUS. His speech was great. I respect the man, I really do, but at the same time like any jilted lover, I cannot forget! “Let’s stay together.” Indeed Mr. President. I will meet you on Main Street but I will not be messed over twice, not if I can help it. You made promises of hope and change, gave us visions of grandeur and have delivered very little especially to US!

So as with any fairytale, I have come to the conclusion that American reality was not found in the great oratorical spectacle given last night. It is pending lore from the fairytales found in the Brothers Grimm tales. Three years of ignoring US and ignoring the platform you ran upon shan’t be rewarded but must be accounted for and we are owed an apology at the very least for invoking in America, especially Black America, visions of a real future of growth and opportunity. Very little progress was made in the great race debate and that was because it was used, used to create feelings of true change and real hope when in reality there really never was an US in your heart. Just opportunity for you and yours alone.

Whites cannot say it, nor will they address it openly or honestly. They are scared and have their own agenda which is not ours at all. Instead they created Occupy movements that mask their criticisms and racism. They do not intend to give you more rope, nor do they intend to ever” Occupy” us with money or time. They simply do not have need for us and use us as a means to an end. This, this was another failed experiment in social justice gone horribly wrong. I hope we at least can see that this man is not MLK or Malcolm. He does not intend to change the path of the African American or make a significant dent in Black history, other than being the first biracial president with a hype swag and flare. This man is a smooth-talking object of affection sent from the left, designed to tide us over until they get their power and move on sans us.

A Letter from Mayor Barrett:

A Call for Action to Fight Crime and Reduce Violence Dear Friends: Warm weather typically brings an increase in violent crime, and I believe it is critical that we act early and aggressively to provide law enforcement with the tools they need to keep Milwaukee neighborhoods safe. Many of these tools require the approval of the State Legislature, and the time to act is now – before summer arrives. We need tougher consequences for felons and others who think little of using, carrying or selling illegal guns to terrorize our residents; we need specific legislation to deal with illegal guns; and we need appropriate resources so law enforcement has the manpower and technology it needs to crack down on illegal guns and the criminals who use them. Specifically Chief Flynn, District Attorney Chisholm and I believe the State Legislature must adopt legislation that will address the following: Minimum Mandatory sentences for felons and individuals with prior criminal records in possession of a weapon. Tougher sentences for crimes committed with firearms. Mandatory background checks on all sales of handguns. Adoption of micro-stamping technology legislation. Funding for Community Prosecutors, Drug Prosecutors and Violent Crime Prosecutors in the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. Direct the 911 emergency surcharge collected within the City of Milwaukee to help pay for police, firefighters and paramedics in the City of Milwaukee. The Legislature has convened Special Sessions to address the state budget and the Great Lakes Compact. I believe fighting crime and reducing violence in Milwaukee and across Wisconsin are equally worthy of a Special Session. The governor has been an ally in the mission to keep Milwaukee safe, and I know he shares my strong belief that gun violence must not be tolerated. Gang members, felons and other criminals who choose to commit violent crime in Milwaukee must face serious consequences for their reckless acts. It’s time to toughen the message, enforce stiff penalties and fund the prosecutors and police needed to put away the bad guys. The time to act is now, and I ask the State Legislature to provide the tools to make Milwaukee safer.

 Sincerely,

Mayor Barrett

MICAH, a church-based organization, sponsors non-denominational prayer vigils as part of their “Holy Ground” campaign at the sites of homicides in Milwaukee. To be put on the phone tree to be notified of the time of these vigils, please call Marna of Mothers Against Gun Violence at 414–372–4358.

Please note that this count of homicides in the city of Milwaukee is for all homicides in this year. The Holy Ground Campaign count of homicides, which comes to MICAH from the Milwaukee police department does not coincide with the official count of the city of Milwaukee. The official count of the city of Milwaukee excludes some homicides involving a vehicle (vehicular homicides), some on or near county grounds in the city, and homicides resulting from police shootings.

Justice for Andrew

Justice for Andrew

December 5th, the day I hope to forget….

“Deb you need to get over here. Andrew’s been shot and it’s not good….”

In the summer of 1987, Karin was pregnant, very pregnant. She went through hell and endured many naysayers to protect the gift God gave her. Even then she knew that she was chosen to bring a very special miracle into this world. I cannot remember Karin hesitating for a second to not accept this challenge. Karin being young, many people said she was throwing her life away. Little did we know she was given a gift that she graciously shared with all of us. That gift was Andrew Damone Tyler, an angel among us.

I remember Andrew being stubborn and not wanting to come out. We tried many things with Karin to get this baby out. We had her jump rope, eat weird things, dance, and do strange exercises, anything…and then finally June 8, 1987, he decided to enter this world. This beautiful baby boy; a reminder of God’s covenant with His people, with our family, with Karin. Truly a blessing without a disguise, it was apparent he was indeed more than a blessing. He has always been a blessing even as he went through his ups and downs becoming a man.

As I arrived at the scene, I prayed the call was just Steve being overly dramatic and that Andrew would pop out, grinning and smiling as only he could and tell us some crazy story. He would eventually come down the street and say something that would cause us all to get mad and then laugh. That was Andrew. I was prepared to give him the “stern auntie lecture” and say the things my mom taught me about the dangerous world we live in and all the things aunties are supposed to say to back up whatever Karin would say. I was prepared to hold his hand and help him out of the situation as he so many times held my hand or hugged me and helped me out of my situations. He was a protector. That was indeed Andrew.

However I was miffed at the police tape and barely parked my car as I realized this might actually be a little more than I braced for. Police were everywhere and people looked lost and scared. Upon seeing me, they looked even more different than I expected and they were not smiling or anything to give me a sign of hope that things were going to be okay. “Oh Lord Andrew what happened here?” “Did you go overboard with a prank?” “Did the police mistake you for someone?” “Did someone pull the fire alarm?”

What in the hell….

“He didn’t make it…”

“He was killed…”

“Someone shot him….”

“We don’t know what happened but Andrew is gone”

I started to shake uncontrollably. All I could hear was this noise but what I heard could not be true. If one person in the world should have been protected and shielded it was this baby and whatever these people are saying, why are they lying and saying such horrible mess? Let’s wait for the facts and let Andrew tell it. He can straighten this out.

However he would not tell it. He would not be coming out of his home on his own. He would not be telling me anything. Only the silhouette of my sister, shattered and distraught, barely walking was all I could make out in the cold, dark night. Still I looked behind her desperately looking for my nephew. He was not there.

Okay God this is not funny anymore! Was he hurt, was he going to the hospital? Let’s prepare for these things. I was prepared for those things. What I was not prepared for was the words from my sister confirming that Andrew was gone. He was gone…

He was gone…

Andrew is gone…

Silence…

She was shown a picture of his lifeless body confirming he had expired from this world. Even with her saying it, I could not accept it. I kept looking for a police officer or paramedic coming to tell us, he was going to be okay. They never did.

One can never prepare for this, especially when it is your family member…

Especially when he is only 24 years old…

Especially when he was just getting his life back under God’s control…

Especially when he was just going back to work…

Especially when he was finishing school…

Especially when you know damn well you should be dead long before him…

Especially when this person was way too full of life. We need him here, I need him here…

Especially since it was Andrew, so vibrant, so resilient, so bright…

Andrew was one of those babies born specially created in God’s purest image. He was not only beautiful on the outside, but he was so much more beautiful on the inside. He was joy, he was a smile, he was life, he was brilliant, he was passionate, he was amazingly gifted and smart, and yes he was irritating at times.  But no matter how irritating, you never left upset. You left laughing or at least cracking a smile, or if you were smart, waited until he left to laugh at whatever he did or said. He was uniquely created carrying the gift of unconditional love and joy like no other person I know. This gift was witnessed by so many people. I had not realized how infectious his being and spirit was until his wake. He has touched so many lives for the better.

People began to question what happened. Karin tried her best to tell us what happened but at the same time you could see her struggling to breath and take in what she was just told by the police. It grew very cold; reality mixed with outrage started to set in. Who did this, why? Why? Why? God why? I could feel my heart beating faster and my mind raced as I searched for a way to change this all. If I could just get to Andrew and figure out a plan to revive him, maybe something was overlooked, maybe I did have some superhero power to snatch him back. I just got to get to him. They would not let us near him. This was now a crime scene. He was there alone without his family. God this is killing me. I can only imagine what Karin was feeling. Imaging how so many families, like our family, is now feeling being ripped away from their loved one way too soon.

Karin and Andrew had a very unique bond. They were more like best friends and their relationship sustained them through many tests and trials and it ultimately became something that was immeasurable to us. Their love was a testament to compassion, dedication, and family above all else. Truly she is a great mother regardless of the roadblocks placed in her way. With Andrew at her side and then along with his siblings, Symona, Alec, Micah, and Amira, Karin rose to great heights. This weekend she is graduating from college. However she will be graduating without the one person who would have most appreciated the sacrifices she made to do it. She will have Alayna Marie, Andrew’s 2 year old daughter, a piece of Andrew, there in his place.

The police kept pushing us onto the corner. By this time a rather large crowd gathered on 50th and Congress to dispel or confirm the rumors. I was numb by this time as it was becoming more and more apparent that Andrew would not be coming down that street no matter what I was trying to will or ask God to do. He just was not. I was trying to hold up my sister, hearing her cries that will haunt me forever, for her baby boy, starting to believe this horrific story. What could I say, what could I do to take this away from her and protect her in the way Andrew would want me to? I don’t have that gift that came so easy for him. I was at a loss, I couldn’t talk, I couldn’t move, yet I couldn’t be still. There was something I needed to do, but what? Asking questions only led to more questions and no answers. Not having answers led to more anger and rage. If Andrew was not coming out of the house, where was the assailant who did this so we could see the face of evil and ask them why? I wanted revenge, I wanted answers, and I wanted to retaliate. These were immediate thoughts but any retaliation would not bring back Andrew.

Andrew came to school at my campus in these last months. We got to rekindle our bond and I thank God for those memories of getting to see Andrew every day with Stevie (my son) by his side. I got to talk to this man and have fun again and laugh hysterically as I worried about what Andrew might do to get us all in trouble. During this time I remembered to loosen up again, before I became such an uptight boring, serious adult. Why so serious? Andrew said. He was right why was I so serious? It’s life! One last gift he gave to me. He was unselfish like that. That was Andrew.

He was at my bedside when I got very sick and he shared his strength with me, that was Andrew.  He gave me a lecture, some questions to answer and some good advice! That very much was Andrew!

He was my protector on a few occasions and I never really knew how to thank him. He protected me from myself sometimes. He had to be the mature one! He was wise in many ways, more so than I about a few different things. That was Andrew.

Yes he had some typical young male tendencies but his new found joy in Alayna Marie started to settle him into fatherhood and manhood, which for him was a role he seemed born to play. He was a perfect dad. Simply perfect!

As the eldest sister, not only do you not want to see your nephew hurt. It burns you to your soul to see your siblings or family in any form of discontent. This is your charge as the eldest. You are the protector, the shield, the rock. And for that night I prayed I could have the powers of a superhero to give my sister back her baby and return Andrew back to this space unharmed. It was so cold that night, not only in temperature but a darkness that set into my soul and now the world looked so different, so dark and so bleak, void of a very big presence. Void of Andrew’s physical self. He was larger than life.

Just a week or so ago, with some money in his hand Andrew asked me to buy him lunch. He knew I wasn’t falling for that line, but he did this most days. He hugged me every day and his skinny little arms gave hugs (arms tattooed with his cherished reminders of his grandmother’s love for him among other things), that were truly genuine. He never took those moments for granted, you could just tell. He reminded everyone of who he was and who they would have to answer to if they should cross him. This accomplished young man was proud of me and proud for me. Not very often did I see him angry. It was not easy or fun having your aunt over your shoulder at school, but you could not tell from Andrew. He and my oldest son Steven made my day! They were like a tornado in the hallways and their ability to be charming and witty captured everyone for good or for bad. They were a dynamic duo! Joking all the time and causing trouble, yet it was hard to get mad at Andrew, next to impossible because he was that damn funny. You could not take him seriously unless discussing his daughter. That was serious business! He had a responsibility and mission to see Alayna accomplish great things. He was bound and determined to do that. He was also as loyal about his friends and family. He bragged about their accomplishments as if they were his own. That was Andrew. However he had accomplished a lot as well, and he never was boastful. He was just happy.

The next day in Andrew’s apartment was just as unbearable, no clues, no Horatio or CSI team, no Law and Order Criminal Investigation Unit, no Criminal Minds profiling and no one-hour closing to this story. We are left with fragments of a possible burglary gone wrong if that indeed was what happened. We are left wondering what Andrew’s last moments were like. Was it an associate, or an outright stranger who did this? We combed the place over and over but again walked away empty. Bullet holes laced the scene of what was Andrew’s safe haven and Alayna’s home. The stockings and tree still there to remind us of the magical holiday Andrew was creating for Alayna, now just an eerie silence as we all pondered what transpired in this space just hours previous.

I am asking my community, like too many other families have had to ask before me, to help us find answers and justice for Andrew and for our family.

One too many of our babies have been killed…

Another family burying another young man….

The story is sadly the same, but of course Andrew’s story is unique to us as well as is the pain of closing his casket and asking God to keep him until we join him again. However his spirit and what we know to be Andrew lives on and only grows stronger. Some things not even the devil or a bullet cannot take away. That was Andrew, that will always be Andrew and he will always be among us and a part of us.

May God’s peace be with you until we meet again Andrew Damone…

Until then, know that we will never stop loving you and we will always support, protect, and provide for Karin and Alayna, Symona, Alec,  Micah and Amira as we know you would have us to do.

As for the person who did this, know you are in our prayers as well. However you need to come forward because we will never rest until we see you and we understand why you took away this sacred gift and you do have to answer for your crime.

Please note that there are accounts to help the family in a way that you feel comfortable.

Andrew’s Memorial Video

http://www.krausefuneralhome.com/obituary.php?id=3077

I leave you with this song from James Fortune that Mr. Lincoln Russell sang so eloquently at Andrew’s Home going hoping it will comfort you as it has me. God be with you all and let us stay in community working for peace, justice, and a renewed sense of purpose for our young people, especially those taken by violence. We must work to make this world safe for them and us to live in.

I believe the storm will soon be over

I believe the rain will go away

I believe that I can make it through it

I believe….It’s already done

I believe family will get better

I believe God will provide

I believe the promise that He made

I believe …. It’s already done

I believe that my God is a healer

I believe that I will survive

I believe that God is able

I believe….It’s already done

Thy will be done…

Peace Family,

Wednesday Recap Volume II: All Politics All The Time!

Wednesday Recap Volume II

With all things politics in mind, there is just too much to going on in our beloved state and nation to just digest one thing. So here we go…

National Nonsense…

Cain Can’t

I was up in the air about Herman Cain and all these mounting allegations. Honestly none of them do anything to suede my judgment of him. My judgment of finding any real journalism has been shaken to the core from this. I am not saying if he did or didn’t, but he did express a very real sentiment many of us share.  Politics these days is a broken, bitter, evil place and do we really want to try and convict based on the court of media? Some of the allegations come from people with interesting possible motives, possible mental illness, and ties to Obama and/or other candidates. So I am wondering out loud if we should be trying this man in this court or should we stop that train of media frenzy. I wonder how many candidates locally and nationally we could potentially have if we did not worry so much about media sensationalizing and the ability to call out anyone without using the proper venues of law & order to mount accusations and such. Fair enough, he should have gotten his ducks in a row before he ran, who knew? Since he is an outsider, was it a blitz attack coming from both parties? As an aside, I find it curious we (and you know who you are) rise to OJ’s defense but call this man a coon? I see a lot of hypocrisy here and I just don’t like the smell of it. The fight to allow a black man by blacks to be Republican and Conservative is also being wagged here and if this were Obama I am betting we would have stood with him, hope, change and all!

I am going to refrain from voicing my support of any candidate because I still just can’t reconcile my standards to these people. Again I am not judging any of them, just waiting until I get all my ducks in a row! I know it won’t be Newt though. His record of profiting and making deals with big business are well-documented. He’s done!

I do know one thing, as far as the media goes, we sure have come a long way to hell’s door. We are trying and convicting people right and left for sins they may or may not have committed based on baseless innuendo and hearsay. As a country and even here in our community how can it be that we are admitting our minds are “googlized” and unable to make clear rational choices without depending on some “news station,” app, Google, or whatever is the choice addiction, to form our thoughts. I don’t know about you but it feels good to get out a dictionary every once in a while and look something up manually. Arnold did warn us of the machine uprising. Well here it starts with media now the Bible of the American people.

More about that later….

Lena Taylor & Alleged Voter Fraud

“So this is what democracy looks like!” Taylor coined this phrase to attack Governor Walker but it turns out that she may soon be at the root of her very own John Doe investigation. I hope no one is surprised by this because she has in the past been accused of questionable voting practices at polling sites, doing God knows what, not so long ago among other questionable practices in her political career.

Funny because last week I had mentioned she would be the choice for Dems looking to anoint a Walker replacement. Senator Taylor, if she makes it passed this and can explain away years of accusations, might still be the only choice as she still holds money, power, and people and momentum that far surpasses any other Democratic contender. Hell she has Ed Schultz in love with her and that is a powerful mouth piece at her disposal, if he is still engaged in Wisconsin politics. Come 2012, I think he just might!

Government Accountability Board Green Lights Rampant Fraud

Last week the GAB publically announced that it would be hiring people on a temporary basis to examine recall petitions. The board also acknowledged that they would not be entering names in any databases which could assist in cross references and checks for duplicity and other anomalies in the recall petition submissions.

They pretty much gave Walker recallers the go ahead to sign away and sign often!

“Recall advocates have suggested amongst themselves that supporters sign multiple petitions in the event that the first petition is lost, damaged or not turned in. In that case, a second signature on a petition circulated by a different group could be submitted and the person’s signature would still count.”

Brian Sikma

http://mediatrackers.org/2011/11/no-process-tothoroughly-review-recall-signatures/

And for the record no, I do not believe for one minute that they have as many signatures as they claim. But if people were told to sign twice “for safety” they probably have a solid 200,000 and maybe 100,000 real people.

Milwaukee County Exec & Supervisors Races Ramp Up

On the heels of the county’s 2012 budget comes a new crop of fresh faces to the political landscape in Milwaukee County.

Interest in the County Exec seat has been shared by Sheriff David Clarke and Representative Jeff Stone who you remember faced off with now county Exec Chris Abele unsuccessfully.

My thoughts….I think Abele has run a very good mirage of smoke and mirrors trying to pull of his “inner conservative.” However he could have had a moment of clarity and seen all that former County Exec Walker had to deal with and might really be buying what he is trying to sell.

However his supervisors are mounting a ground attack and his public feuds with the more liberal supervisors has some of them asking WTH? In the end with the 2012 election and record numbers of libs coming out to vote, they will make nice and he might return to his liberal agenda.

As for Clarke, I love the man for his bravado. He is courageous if nothing else. But as Kanye said “he’s got a big ego…” And I am not sure if that will fare well for him in a season of Republican lynchings. Sure on record he is a Democrat, but he does not act like one, not as far as they can see and he might want to sit this one out!

Is Rep. Stone really ready for around two with Abele? Again I am thinking he will have to put in a lot of time and do a flip, sounding more liberal to counter this “bizarro conservative” Abele we see before us. He will have to distance himself from the recall mayhem and really seek the independents for their blessings.

There are a few seats in play for county supervisors and one wonders what will happen with a board influx, meaning they are pondering whether to downsize or upgrade. Who wants to do all that work for an election just to fire themselves? And then when they vote to keep their seats will we question their intentions. At a debate/townhall I would love to see someone answer that one. Will you vote to get elected to get rid of the county board or downsize it and/or fire yourself?

I noticed some of the mud has been flying with some of the lesser known candidates by some big name pundits and I wonder “why so angry?” It is way too soon. Although one’s background must be questioned, when dealing with anything county related does it really matter anymore? I guess we are going to have to decide where our moral compass rests these days and again are we fit to judge?

Either way it should be an interesting election at the county level as there is the new blood coming from everywhere, but especially in the inner city and Hispanic populations. However I caution this new uprising to be a little more inclusive. A few of them have seen such strong rhetoric coming from our black elected they are more seduced to talk and act as if they already won off the heels and endorsements of the Democrats and recall effort. Hold on partner, there is a silent majority and they really matter here. They are active and as we saw with Alberta Darling, they show up when called into action.

Some of the other candidates show a lot of refreshing promise and sensible talk as they are not bogged down in any of the state mess, can’t be tied to drama, have no affiliations or outside interests that we have seen as of yet, and are well-vetted and ready to serve. I see a lot of potential for voting in some much needed change, but I also see certain seated supervisors giving out their early endorsements and calling an audible on Abele. Watch out for them because these people are definitely up to something and the county is well known for its cronyism. And yes I am referring to Supervisor Dimittrijevic bullying constituents and others and to what end? One has to wonder what her end game is and what is her personal gain?

This is where I will leave my Wednesday recap. That is a lot for one person, it was a lot to hold inside. Thanks for letting me share. Hope you will join in the conversation. It is an interesting time for politics, especially locally. However the negativity, eh, please not this early! Give us until after Christmas and then get your game on!

Peace Family,

WW
