I have a Dream Too!

Are Blacks Getting Screwed Again?

The DREAM Act

While everyone is busy getting ready for the holidays, the congress is secretly passing laws right and left. The one we need to be watching is the “DREAM ACT.”

The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act (the DREAM Act) is a piece of proposed federal legislation. This bill would provide certain illegal and deportable alien students who graduate from US high schools, who are of good moral character, arrived in the U.S. illegally as minors, and have been in the country continuously and illegally for at least five years prior to the bill’s enactment, the opportunity to earn conditional permanent residency if they complete two years in the military or two years at a four year institution of higher learning.

Why should we care as black Americans you say? Well simply put, the scholarship money that would be deferred to these illegal aliens would be coming from money directly tied to our college money. Scholarships and grants that we (blacks/minorities) enjoy as legal citizens would be “redirected” to these illegal aliens and we would then compete for financial aid and other amenities given legal citizens.

In addition we would be adding more people to the workforce, when they get degrees and become legal and thus more competition for jobs and government assistance. We already loose out jobs to our Hispanic brothers and sisters as it is right now. How much more can WE afford to give? With unemployment in Milwaukee already at 53% for blacks, what do you think this DREAM ACT will do to help US? We are still waiting on our 40 acres and a mule, let alone jobs, and access to post-secondary education. So something has to give.

As Americans it should concern us because the DREAM Act then “green lights” for even more illegal criminals to come across the border, play nice for some years, or stay under the radar long enough to become legal and then bring in more cartels, more drugs, more crime, more people needing government assistance. Also remember they can’t work, they can only go to school or serve in the armed forces, so guess whose picking up that tab? And the feds are not the ones who will; this will be mandated at the state level. So family I ask you, is it racist of me to be more than a bit concerned that this DREAM will kill our Dream? Should we be taking in more people until we get our own house in order?

Frederick Alexander Meade

Frederick Alexander Meade already posed this question today “The gay community has wielded enormous power. Good for them. Black people do you understand the gay community does not care that Obama is black. They helped put him office so they understand he owes them. Guess what black people? He owes you to or is simply having a black president enough for you in the face of our immeasurable suffering. What will it take for black people to get a clue?”

So with Obama and this lame duck congress rushing this DREAM Act through but not rushing a damn thing through to help blacks enslaved to government entitlements, when do we say ENOUGH! Let’s have our Dream first and then you all can get yours after us. We came here (by force) first! We should get ours first!

Now I understand some of them where brought here by parents and did not create this situation but still when do our needs take some priority? I do not want to sound unsympathetic because I’m not. But I also listened to this president make promises I saw many blacks get up and vote for, just to see him not come through on one thing for us. WE NEED JOBS! WE NEED QUALITY EDUCATION! Just give us something, throw us a bone prez! This DREAM Act is going to be our nightmare!

Peace Family,

WW
