Milwaukee Succeeds Education Town Hall July 30th
Whether you are a parent, parent coordinator, educator, or community organization member, please help us reach out to fellow parents and community members for this upcoming Town Hall Meeting.
Milwaukee Succeeds recently released our milestone report that provides baseline data on a variety of measures across the cradle to career continuum.
Some important information you need to know:
• Only 55% of our two year olds have all of their recommended immunizations
• Fewer than 9% of children enrolled in “Wisconsin Shares” are in centers that are considered 4 or 5 star on the state’s rating system
• 85% of 3rd and 8th graders across all education sectors are not considered proficient in reading
• Only 13% of Milwaukee students who took the ACT are considered college ready in at least 3 of 4 subjects.
Improving these alarming outcomes requires community wide awareness and a shared willingness and commitment to improve.
Milwaukee Succeeds is hosting a Town Hall Meeting to inform parents, community members, educators, and other stakeholders, from business owners to congregation members, of the importance of these issues and what they can personally do to help address them.
